Kariba

Kariba is a massive dam, north of Zimbabwe.  It has the 300 km long Kariba Dam is the 3rd largest man-made reservoir in the world.  We're hoping that Rene and Lindsay will be able to find us a houseboat where we can relax and fish, read, chat all day.  Hopefully a relaxing way to finish off our holiday.

There could be some difficulties though with the Zimbabwian government and petrol shortages.  Please pray for Rene and Lindsay during this time.  As currently the Zimbabwian government is running a campaign where they are bulldozing townships and shacks throughout the cities of Zimbabwe.  So we are going there with the expectation that perhaps not everything will go to plan!  :)

Arrival in Zimbabwe

Earlier this year, a work mates, sister, Rene arrived in Canberra. Being a fellow Christian, I invited her to join us at church and girls things. Rene and I became friends during this time. As our around the world flight allowed us to have multiple stop-offs, Rod and I decided to visit this amazing new friend.

We have arranged with Rene and her boyfriend, Lindsay to take a 10 day break with us in their home country. They are planning a fishing trip along the Kariba Dam. Lindsay is an avid fisherman.

Then we are off to the mountain area in the Zimbabwian highveld.
